The little girl named Shiryu Juárez, was born with a short life expectancy since she presented serious respiratory problems due to the lack of lung maturation. So far the smallest

It is believed that at least 500 premature babies are born each year in Spain alone ; those who are older than 38 weeks are considered premature. The case of Amilia, is so far one of the most surprising, because it is a birth with just 21 weeks of gestation.

The little girl was born in Miami, United States, in 2006 and is according to experts the most premature in history. Other babies have come forward in their birth, but not all have managed to survive, only Amilia so far began her fight measuring a mere 24 centimeters and weighing 284 grams.

As expected, there was not much expectation regarding the baby’s recovery. She had been born alive, but her respiratory complications stalked her like all premature babies ; In addition, he had a slight cerebral hemorrhage and underwent numerous surgeries.

Alive and healthy

Camila’s story is surprising because she was not only a premature baby, but also because she was born with a serious problem of septicemia and with one of her lungs collapsed. The little girl came into the world when her mother was 25 weeks pregnant, however, she had already threatened to be born earlier.

Camila weighed a little more than 500 grams at birth, a weight with which she had to overcome more than a month in intensive care, countless medical procedures and the threat of being irretrievably affected by oxygen. After two months of being confined to the hospital, the little girl had made a successful recovery.

It was believed that the amount of oxygen given to the girl could make her blind and that other procedures might affect her development. However, surprisingly she achieved a comprehensive recovery, allowing her to live as a normal child.

Alejandra’s mother had suffered from appendicitis when she was 22 weeks pregnant, for which she had to undergo surgery. Before performing the procedure, the doctors feared that their baby would not survive, so they tried to improve the girl’s chances.

After surprisingly enduring the intervention, after 20 days, the delivery was brought forward. Previously, the specialists had tried to mature Alejandra’s lungs, in order to prepare her in the event that her birth was earlier after what the mother suffered.
